Well, to
begin, I needed to figure out what I want to create with this self-portrait, as
I am not as experience with the concept at all. Something along the lines of
making myself the center of it all, makes me uneasy since I’m usually one
taking the photo, rather than having myself get a photo taken of. For starters,
I was trying to find a photo of myself that didn’t have a more generic appeal
to it, rather I went for a photo that seemed rawer in the sense of facial
emotion. From there, I picked up on the idea of making some type of pixel exposition
happening, which is a pretty accurate representation of what my brain wants to
do all the time. In all seriousness, when I google myself, the only things that
will show up in most results, will be, well me. Because my name you could say,
is rarer than Gordon Ramsey telling somebody to give them seconds on a dish
they have prepared him. Josiah will come up, and my Last name Arauz, will come
up, granted, with a small result number but they are there. But with the
Combination of both my first and last name, the only solid pieces will be of
myself and my social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, and Google +
account, which let’s be honest, nobody uses. So, with the idea of blending the
explosion effect, with google results of myself, is definitely something that
will look like what its supposed to be, or in other words, straight forward.
Hey Josiah, I totally relate with you when it comes to having to work with a picture of myself, I always find it kind of awkward photographing and manipulating my own image. However I think it's good that this project forces us to get out of our comfort zone and examine ourselves.
