Reading Response #10 Pg: 191-212

First and foremost, the creation of computers really revolutionized society in general. We are at a time where the technology is becoming more and more advanced than anything we’ve seen before.  Where the people have the ability to make and create so much from a technological standpoint. And its important to address that artists today have had to shift from creating traditional real-life pieces, to a more digital emphasized. In today’s day in age, it is very easy and more accessible for an artist to gain a following, whether it be on a mainstream platform like Instagram and Facebook, to a more personal application like an actual website that is a more professional gallery for artist to showcase their arts. However, these moves have not come without some problems. Because of today’s modern age, everybody is on social media, and a lot of these people are creators from all types of platforms. From Photographers, to personal vloggers from this we tend to forget that the internet as a whole, is incredibly saturated with all types of people, which is hard ladder for up incomers to climb. And for the most part, many people including myself, have to self-reflect and realize that a lot of the time, people are going to find your work, and not necessarily look at it in the same manner as someone who is looking at it in person. By making computer art, we are looking that connection we gain from looking at it in the moment and really appreciating it for what it really is, instead of “scrolling through it” because one was bored.
